We all read...

My husband sent me this morning to cheer me up over recent developments with my work, and politicians who don't think libraries are important. I omitted the title of the song to cover my ass. The song is to the tune of "Yellow Submarine." My boss called L a comic genius.

In the town where I work,
Lived a mayor whom looked to sea,
And he told us of downtown renewal,
In the land of submarines,

So he sailed one up the Kennebec,
Its reactor glowing fluorescent green,
And filled it full of bookshelves,
And repainted it a yellow submarine,

We all read in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine,
We all play in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine,

Our young friends are all aboard,
Some don't fit the hatch door,
And the band begins to play.

(Trumpets play)

We all read in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine,
We all play in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine,

(weird sounds)

We live a life of inaccessible ease,
Downtown business with all it needs
Sky of blue against reactor green,
In our yellow submarine.

We all read in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine,
We all play in a yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine.
