Digging

Further proof humans were not meant to be alone: scooping an ice cream cone alone is difficult, and messy. We need one another.

I came home from work today and started digging in the dirt. There had been a slight shower, and a rainbow that looked almost fabricated by Hollywood appeared. I love these little gardens that I am putting together. It's a far cry from growing up on the farm, weeding the green beans or picking so many strawberries that they smelled sickening and not sweet. L mentioned that he was interested in a new line of work in place of his per diem job, and my father asked him if that included organic farming. L kind of passed it off as a joke but we have discussed it. I'm not sure if it would be regressing to move back to the country, since my last move back didn't really work out. Of course, everything is different now.

I have been wondering if it is regressing to move home, since that is what I have done. However it wasn't a move of necessity, but of choice. So far I am enjoying the simplicity of the country and glad to be here. The internet makes so much available, my hometown isn't as isolated as I remember it. Good luck with your decision.
