Words can have many meanings

The most overused word in America today? Fierce.

I have watched many elicit and delicious hours of Tyra Banks on America's Next Top Model and I wondered if her use of the word was going to deflate it and make it into some kind of popular saying. I can hear her during the judging, using her low voice and looking into the camera as if it was the contestant to tell the girl that "You're fierce, but stop acting like a diva." It's happened. I see this word everywhere. It's mostly used by women, to boost their self esteem. I think of the Big Bad Wolf as fierce, with sharp teeth and thoughts as impure as a pedophile. Too bad.
