21 days until election day. It's not a major election, except that the fate of my library's funding for our proposed renovation project will be decided upon. If it fails, there are a few options. The first is that the building committee and staff go back at it, paring down the project and returning to ask the voters for approval at another election. The second option is for it to get mired in politics, ruining the chances of the project ever to happen. My director could leave, and I would be faced with the prospect of being offered her job, only to become a puppet for the mayor. Not too enticing.

I try to remain optimistic. I will have a job, either way.

Another masturbater was caught at the library yesterday. He's 14. I feel like I am living in a Farrelly Brothers' film when I go to work.

So what does a 14 year old masterbate to in a public library?

Hot librarians, of course! ;-)

So if this is "another" masturbater, how many masturbaters do you get in this library? There aren't more masturbaters than there are readers of books are there?

There have been 2 in the past 2 weeks at the public computers, but there could be more. The stacks are pretty isolated.

We actually circulate more dvds and videos than we do books at this time, although it's close. I'm hoping literacy will override eroticism, at least at the library. I don't care what people do at home.
