Be responsible!

I've heard it all. Today I had a staff member tell me that one of our patrons lost a tape of Taj Mahal, but told her that it wasn't very good anyway. Does subjectivity relieve us of our personal responsibility? I hated my old car but I still needed to make payments on it. Situations like this further drives the nail into the coffin of humanity for me.
